Hatchlink in Your Early-Years Setting

How Hatchlink Works:

We understand how the impact of the current staff shortages in the sector can put strain on early years settings, making it harder to grow as businesses and find cover to rectify existing staff absences.

It is an easy process to register with Hatchlink through the simple form below. Once accepted you will receive an invite to join our personalised app and website interface through which you can post temporary job shifts you are looking to fill to our network of pre-vetted nursery staff.

​

As a minimum all temporary staffing will have a Valid Enhanced DBS with Barred lists and Paediatric First Aid Certificate, meaning they can step fill in to stabilise ratios and ensure Ofsted Compliance. Many other potential cover staff will also have varying Early Years Practitioner Qualifications allowing you to find the best fit for the role. All qualifications are viewable on a Staff Users profile so you can check if they qualify for what you are looking for before accepting them onto a job.

Once an employee has been accepted onto a job you will be able to message them via our in-app chat to provide further details. When completing a shift each user is required to clock in and out via the app's geofenced time-clock and when complete you will be able to leave this member of staff a review to be seen by other settings and if unsatisfied you can request individual members be blocked from applying.

  • £16.43 per hour

  • (£12.21 + Holiday entitlement + 20% admin fee)

Customers of The Steel Spoon:

Our Sister-Company, The Steel Spoon, is a Sheffield-Based Nursery Catering provider offering daily Early-Years Meal deliveries to settings across Sheffield.

We waive all subscription fees to settings which are partnered with the The Steel Spoon allowing full access to Hatchlink as part of their catering package.

Anti-Poaching Policy

​We believe in ethical hiring and use of our platform that is why ​​all users of Hatchlink must agree to our strict Anti-Poaching Policy prior to access.​

​Key Anti-Poaching Measures

  1. Mutual Commitment

    • Nurseries on Hatchlink agree not to poach permanent staff from other nurseries discovered via the platform

  2. Transfer Fee for Permanent Hires

    • If Nursery A wants to hire Nursery B’s permanent staff member (who worked temporary shifts via Hatchlink):

  • 15% of the worker’s annual salary (or £3,000, whichever is higher) is paid as a Staff Retention Contribution to Nursery B if they choose not to waive.

   3. Temporary staff must:

  • Disclose if they are permanently employed at another nursery.

  • Disclose if they are offered permanent employment at another nursery.

   4. Penalties for Breaches

  • First breach: Mediation + Transfer Fee.

  • Repeat breaches: Suspension from platform.
